The Lake Bullen Merri Classic 2008
A great weekend was had by all at the 2008 Lake Bullen Merri Classic. The weather was very kind to us all as the sun shone for the event even though the nights were a little brisk. Thank you to all those who travelled to our wonderful shores of Lake Bullen Merri to participate in the event. Some very nice fish were caught and it was great to see the increased number of ladies and children taking part.
It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying both the fishing and the company of other fisher persons throughout the weekend. This year we had an increase in the number of juniors participating The juniors are the future of our sport. It was great to see many of them enjoying Saturday evening around the fire. Well done to all the juniors who caught fish. Be sure to read about the winners and review the event photos.
The lucky draw was once again won buy Peter Schultz who coincidently won the Major draw 2 years ago. Congratulations Peter. Well done.
This event would not have been as successful if it was not for the the wonderful support of our sponsors. We as a club would like to thank them one and all for their support of our event. Last but certainly not least thank you to all our club members for you help throughout the weekend and in the setting up and dismantling of the equipment required. A job well done!
Our charity of choice is the MAKE A WISH FOUNDATION and through the support of all participants as well as our sponsors and our club, we will be making a donation of approximately $1000.00 (The Final donation was not completed at time of writing this report). This will be presented to the foundation at the end of October.
