April Sec. to enquire into cost of building (army hut) from Broadmeadows Army Barracks, also cost of transport
May 29th C.A.C. write to South Beach Committee Management to request are of land for clubrooms at Lake Bullen Merri.
Also obtain quotes for erection of building 40ft * 20ft with either concrete of wooden floor.
Quotes obtained from:
J.E. Robinson : 429 Pound 17 Shillings & 6 Pence (approx. $861.50)
R.E. Scouller : 417 Pound 19 Shillings & 6 Pence (approx. $837.90)
Mr. McDowell : 299 Pound 8 Shillings & 6 Pence (approx. $599.0)
Removal of Building from Broadmeadows
J. Nunn Snake Valley : 300 Pounds (approx. $600.00)
K.E. Black : 250 Pounds (approx. ($500.00) The feel of the meeting was that the club should have clubrooms at Lake Bullen Merri. The majority of members against building from scratch and that debentures best answer to fiance the cost of building from Broadmeadows (350 pounds - approx. $700.00) plus New Materials (300 Pounds - approx. $600).
A sub committee was formed and given right & permission from the the Dept. of Interior to inspect the No2 hut at Broadmeadows, with permission from the C.A.C. to purchase if suitable for clubrooms.
Aug. 6th South Beach Committee grants area of land 100ft from Wurrong Boundary
Aug. 7th Club Purchase Army Hut
Aug. 15th Preston Angling Club offer assistance to demolish & Erect Hut
Aug. 19th Club Pay 1 Pound Rent ($2) to South Beach Committee
Aug. 30th Foundation laid for hut to be placed East West on site at Working Bee by C.A.C & Preston A/C
Oct. 11th Concreting carried out at Clubrooms
Dec. 9th First Meeting of the Camperdown Angling Club in new Clubrooms, Sth Beach Lake Bullen Merri
