Summer
| Brown Trout | Generally very hard to tempt during the Summer but at times they can be found with Lures trolled with a downrigger at depths of up to 20 metres. The most likely place to find then is around the North Shore, but don't expect many at this time of year. |
| Rainbow Trout | Fishing from the shore at dusk and dawn with a variety of baits will often attract Rainbows. Suggested bait to try is Powerbait in a variety of colours, mudeyes under a float or minnows fished in the same way. You can usually expect the average size to be around the 700 grams as these will be fish from the current years release. |
| Australian Bass | The warmer months are the prime time to target the Bass as they tend to shut down once the water temperature drops. The best method is to use soft plastic lures, fished from either Potter Point or around the North West Corner of the North Shore Beach area. Hard bodied lures can also be used, but they will need to be a deep diving variety. Bass tend to be around the 1.8Kg at present in the Lake, but no new fish have been stocked since. |
| Quinnet Salmon | As there will be no new releases of Quinnet Salmon until further notice due to a shortage of fish at the Hatchery. Notes on the best method for this species will be added when stocks are again released. At this stage it may be 2010 before any further releases. |
