CAC OCTOBER-NOVEMBER NEWSLETTER

Our recent meeting included our AGM and we had change of our committee. All committee members from last year except Roger Tolland declined re-election. We now have a new committee with President Gary Cronin leading the way this year. Other positions - Senior Vice President Roger Tolland, Junior Vice President Don Swayn, Secretary Gwen George, and Treasurer David Ritchie. We thank all those members for taking on the running and organisation of our club and hope all members will support them in their new roles. Congratulations. It is probably a good opportunity to thank the outgoing committee which was capably led by Bob Liddle for their work over the last 15 months. At our AGM membership was set for 2012-2013 and it was decided that membership fees would remain the same.

Thank you sincerely for all members who supported our recent fishing classic. Even though the weather was not as kind as it could have been we had a very successful weekend. Many fish were caught at both lakes and all fisherpersons enjoyed the weekend. Thank you to all members who helped in any way both before the event, over the weekend all with the cleanup. It really is a busy time for those who helped and your support was truly appreciated. Special thanks to the ladies who assisted us with the serving of the meal on Saturday night. We will be donating money to our charity of choice SWHC Camperdown Hospital Auxiliary.

Our recent trip to Yambuk was well supported by club members and even though we had a great weekend we unfortunately were unable to bring home the trophy. The trophy was won by Yambuk with local Dale Barker catching a 40.5 cm bream. Thank you for Yambuk for making us so welcome.

Our next fishing trip will be the First Leg of the Clarke Shield to be held on the Curdies River on Sunday 13.11.2011. Registration and Weigh-in will be at the bridge at Curdie Vale.  For the Clarke Shield it is important that fish are weighed in as the shield is judged over two weekends and points are awarded to each club at each comp so if you don’t weigh in fish we do not get points. Our club has decided to include fishing on Saturday as well. (Saturday fishing will not be part of the Clarke Shield) Our comp will be fishing from Saturday 8.00 am to 6.00 pm ( weigh-in at Peterborough) then Registration at Curdie Vale fishing 10.00 am until 4.00 pm Sunday (weigh-in at Curdie Vale.) Our members will be staying at the Great Ocean Road Tourist Park for the weekend. Both camping and Cabins are available for hire. It is an ideal time to support one of our sponsors. Phone Dean and Sarah on 55985477 for reservations.

Our next club meeting has been changed to 22.11.2011 and will incorporate our presentation night. We will be having nibbles and drinks at 6.30 pm followed by a very quick meeting then tea. Tea will be provided by the club. BYO drinks Please reply to our new Secretary Gwen on 0417207400 with numbers attending. We need your reply to assist with Catering so please let Gwen know if you are able to attend.

As an extra social club outing we will be going to the Trots at Terang on Wednesday 16th November. We have reserved two tables for our members. On previous occasions this has been a very enjoyable evening. Meals are available at very affordable prices. Junior members are welcome as well. Could you again please let Gwen know on 0417207400 if you would like to join us Again as we have reserved seat we need to confirm our numbers so please contact Gwen ASAP
